Nativity of Jesus – a play by the children of GTPJ

On Christmas day (25th December), our Church held a a Christmas Celebration Service. It was a combined service, numbering a crowd of almost a thousand (my very imprecise estimation). Well, the Maranatha Auditorium was packed beyond recognition. The children’s church did a play on the Nativity of Jesus.

Below are captured moments of the play!

Above is a picture of the emcees/narrators who started the play by introducing the Gospels of Matthew and Luke.

Christmas Day Cooking

To celebrate Christmas, we hosted a Christmas eve dinner on the 24th of December. Having been given the privilege to be the Chef for the night’s dinner, I came up with a very Christmas-ly menu.

1. Roast Turkey

2. Pumpkin Soup

3. Braised Broccoli and Cauliflower with Carrots

4. Ginger Bread Man Cookies

5. Anzac Biscuits

Off course, apart from the above listed dishes, our relatives who were the guests of our dinner pot-lucked some tit-bits and desserts too.

Due to the lack of time and chaos caused in the kitchen, I only managed to capture pictures of the Roast turkey’s “aftermath” (seen above) and the process of the Ginger Bread Man Cookies.

Ginger Bread Man Cookies

After making and chilling the dough, it was cut into ginger bread man shapes using the dough cutter.

The cut dough are set into the baking oven with a temperature of 40 minutes.

In midst of the baking, you can see how the dough rises. The ginger bread man gets puffy!

As soon as the edges turn slightly golden brown (approx 15 minutes), my final produce were an army of GINGER BREAD MEN!

Without the availability of decorative icing sugar, I was compelled to creating faceless Ginger Bread Men…

Merry Christmas

Wishing all friends and family, a very Merry Christmas!

Dancing Angels Repertoire @ Pavilion Kuala Lumpur

I took up the courage and agreed to meet my relatives who were visiting from Singapore at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur today. This decision was made pretty irrationally, as I am really raw when it comes to roads in KL. Thankfully, I managed to arrive there safely at noon with the help of Google Earth.

Whilst walking aimlessly along the corridor, a harmonious Christmas Carol was aired. I quickly rushed to investigate its source, and came to found out that the Dancing Angels Repertoire was about to begin! Thank God I had my 40D with me! Above is a picture of the Angels whilst they were swirling.

After the repertoire, we were all invited to pose and take pictures with the Angels. Fortunately, me being one of the very few who had a DSLR at that moment caught the attention of the Angels. As soon as I take a photoshooting stance, they would immediately look my way and pose for the camera with that sweet and charming smile!

Below are a few captured angelic moments! Enjoy!

Upon my request, the Angels agreed to take a group photo! This moment was truly mine!

Silver Bells – young adults Christmas service @ GTPJ

At 5.00 PM today, many of us young adults assembled at the house of God, to celebrate this prestigious anniversary of the Lord’s. This evening’s service was themed “Silver Bells”, and we were dress-coded blue and silver.

Being a continuation to the “love is in the air” event, many new faces emerged from the crowd. The evening started with some Christmas Carols and Worship songs. The evening’s climax approached when the Children’s Church and the Young Adult’s Church staged a wonderful dancing performance.

As the nagging ticking watch of mine hit 7PM, I had to make a move and miss out on after-service dinner function. Sorry guys and girls who were looking forward to cam-whoring! DUTY CALLS! I’ll look forward to getting better shots taken on the Christmas Celebration Service this coming 25th December!

Love is in the Air This Xmas @ GTPJ (DJ Cell)

Last night, a group of young and enlighten souls gathered at Jon Wong’s humble holy home to celebrate this years’ Christmas as a church cell group together. Each of us cell members were encouraged to have a friend or two to tag along to this event.

Despite some unfortunate turn downs from several friends for the night’s event, the attendance for this event was still rewarding. We came together numbering a crowd of 70+.

THE FEAST

Our first agenda for the night was “Gorging in”. Being a crowd of 70, we needed food! In fact, plentiful food! And there we were, with a King’s feast! After having patiently practice our civil courtesy by following in line to get our food, everyone disembarked from the “buffet line” and form clans around Jon’s house. Pitiful me in my new stiff jeans, I had to crawl and creep through the crowd to capture the happy moments. See below several group photos taken during dinner.

THE GAMES

Next in the following, the organizers got us all to gather at the hall, for the games to commence. The games substantially made the night merrier. It allowed friends of different friends to get to know one another, and bond a new friendship. It was an atmosphere of absolute togetherness.

GIFT EXCHANGE

After the games, it was time for the gift exchange ceremony. We had to hilariously pass our presents to the left and right randomly upon the every “left” and “right” statement made in a short story read out by Jon and Delaine. Which ever present that ended up in our hands at the end of the story, was eventually rightfully ours.

CHRISTMAS CAROLING

Approaching the closure of this xmas gathering, Vincent and Charisse led us all to sing in unison a few Christmas songs, reminding ourselves of the joy of this day for which the Lord was born.

It was a wonderful and eventful night. I believe that we had successfully reach real far out last night, and may we all pray that miracles will continue to happen.

Wishing all a merry jolly Christmas!

PS: some photos are uncaptioned, as I’m uncertain of the spelling of the names. Please do update me.
