A Major Letdown..

Ever had the feeling of having idolizing someone (with authority), and in then end, this "idol" of yours turned on you and failed to stand by you by being justice at the time you needed help?

Someone renowned has already answered this question of mine long before my query.

Yes, disappointment over perceived unfairness, injustice, promises not kept, tends to go hand in hand with increasing prosperity. Expectations are dashed. What can I say!
Mary Douglas

Why do I always become so disappointed over injustice and unfairness?

I guess that what led me to this state of being vulnerable is because these people know of my goals. And they are out to dampen spirit, snatching what is rightfully mine and weigh me down from being to achieve my goals.

Will I be able to persevere? Will I be able to make it through? Or should I just give up and find my next battle arena?

Here I am once again, lost in total darkness, not because I'm directionless, but because of my disappointment. This disappointment is to my soul of what thunder-storm is to the air.

I'm starting to feel heavy... feeling tired... really tired....

Worship Night 08 at GTPJ

After our Friday morning lectures, the team members of Al-pha Q, aka "us" gobbled down our lunches, and headed for our secret lab to fine tune our dynamics vibrator. This project requires of us to create and design a vibrator of not more than 4kg to vibrate a pedometer for 4 minutes. Off course, the team with the highest registered figure by the pedometer sets the benchmark for the scorings.

3PM - the time for us to run our vibrator came, and all I could did was hallelujah-ing in my head. When it was our turn to make a go with our vibrator, feeling the flaps of the butterfly in me stomach, I piloted the vibrator to speed 2.

After 4 minutes of cacophony, our pedometer registered a reading of 631. We were all pleasantly surprised as amongst all our test runs, this was the best registered reading ever!

I must admit, that I am a sore loser! I cannot cede failure and confess to myself that I'm a loser. Hence, despite having done better than what we expected, I still resembled a poop for displaying my misery.

However, despite the bad traffic, bad rain, and bad mood, I was still up for the Worship Night! As I touched foot at the House of God, I immediately became enlightened and found it so much easier to hang my cheeks up to smile.

I had my camera with me at the event, but didn't have much chance to take many pictures as I was too absorbed into feeling His presence.

Monash Scholarships Presentation

Today, Monash had a presentation ceremony for all the Scholarship recipients. Each of the Scholarship recipients were allowed a maximum of 2 guests for RSVP.

As both Bernard and Christopher were amongst the recipients, they invited me to tag along with them for the presentation.

The Presentation was meant to commence at 11.30am. Knowing how Malaysian's timing is like, it eventually started at about 12pm. I had my full camera kit with me, excitedly wanting to take pictures of this memorable event. During the presentation of the certificates, my flash had to die on me! This had really ruin my enthusiasm and shattered my confidence. I became uncertain of what to take, what settings to use etc..

Well, putting photography quality aside, I still managed to freeze some of these memorable moments!

Anyways, I enjoyed having the privilege of being the guest of two scholarship recipients! Enjoyed reception and free food!  Thanks for the invitation guys! It'll be my turn next sem! HOPEFULLY~~~~

Happy 19th Birthday Yee Ven

Today is Yee Ven's actual birthday. He threw himself a birthday bash last night at his house at Taman Bukit Maluri.

Yesterday, after a long and tiring day of running errands and finishing up my assignments and projects, I rushed home, made preparations and set of for Yee Ven's birthday party. As I was about to leave the home with Yee Ven's present held in my hands, it dawned on me that I forgot to wrap his present! I didn't have a decent wrapper at home, and could only make do with Manila Card! Fortunately, the present turned out to be within acceptable standard!

Yee Ven's party allowed me the chance to catch up with friends which I have lost contact with since having left for Shanghai. I had to keep greeting these long-lost-contact friends of mine, saying "Hey! Long time no see!". It felt a bit strange as I had to repeat the same phrase over and over again for a dozen of times.

At about 10.30PM, most of the people experienced an over-satisfaction of bloat from the army's meal catered for the party. They soon started to become restless. Teck shyen then suggested to begin the candle blowing and cake cutting ceremony.

Selamat Hari Raya (Happy Eid)

Hari Raya Aidilfitri (also Hari Raya Puasa, literally "Celebration Day of Fasting") is the Malay term for the Muslim festival of Eid ul-Fitr. Hari Raya is also known as Lebaran. Muslims in Brunei, Malaysia and Singapore celebrate Eid like other Muslims throughout the world. The term "Hari Raya" literally means "Day of Celebration" — it is also occasionally used to refer to Eid ul-Adha in the form of "Hari Raya Aidiladha". The main greeting used by Muslims in Malaysia and Singapore is "Selamat Hari Raya" which means "Happy Eid" in Malay. Another greeting is "maaf zahir dan batin" which translates loosely to "I seek forgiveness (from you) physically and spiritually", for Hari Raya is a time to reconcile and renew relationships with others.

During Hari Raya, after the month of Ramadan (fasting month), the Muslims often would host an open house event, inviting all friends, neighbours and relatives to come join this authentic celebration.

Revisiting the past, I can still recall the fond memory of being hosted to such an event by a Muslim neighbour of mine. Year after year, without fail, they would come over to our house to seek our audience to the celebration.

Having the thought of being able to get over-indulged with all the kuih-muihs (traditional Malay cakes and cookies) and made spicy-sweet curries, I was always more than delighted to go.

Wishing for more kuih-muihs to come flooding my way, to all the Muslims out there, Happy Eid and Selamat Hari Raya
